Looking for a hand.

Hey, everyone, I was just wondering if someone can help me out. Im trying to do something where you, as the character, have to collect other little characters that look like you but smaller. When you collect one they join you. and you have to prevent them from getting hurt. I have graphics and everything else done, just need this in there. I just wanted to know if anyone wanted to help a fellow amature developer out.

Thanks for your time,
Justin.

Do you mean you are looking for someone to handle this coding for you or do you want advice on how to go about it yourself? If you want to find a coder, you might want to try the Collaboration section of the forum. If you need advice then perhaps you can give a bit more detail about how the game works and what you need help with.

@andeeee
I’m not sure how else to explain it. Ill try posting this in the Collaboration section. I just want a following script, like collect somthing and it follows you.
Sorry if it makes no sense. lol.

It’s not that it doesn’t make sense :slight_smile: It’s just that you need to decide whether:

  1. You’re here to learn how to program well enough to make the game you have in mind yourself.

  2. You’re here to find programmers to collaborate with you on making the game.

If it’s the first one, then you’ll want to start learning to program (if you haven’t already) and then post specific questions about how to do things if/when you have them.

If it’s the second one, then you should hit the ‘Collaboration’ forum and see if you can find a programmer to help you. (Although finding people to help for free can be an uphill battle, if you can provide quality art for the game, you might be able to get a programmer involved on a volunteer basis.)

@Jesse Anders
Thanks for the reply.

Mainly the first one

I would defiantly like to learn but i was unable to find tutorials teaching me the steps. So that is why I resorted to asking fellow developers.

You probably won’t find a tutorial that shows how to make the exact game you want to make, but there are plenty of tutorials that teach the basics of scripting and working with Unity. (Try the resources section on the Unity website to start with. You might also try searching the forums for ‘tutorials’ and see what you find.)

You can always try to get other programmers involved as well of course.
