I would like to know if anyone knows where I can get an example iphone Unity project of a side-scrolling beat-em-up type game like Castle Crashers, or OMG Pirates! ?

There are example projects available on Unity’s site, one of them is a 3d side scroller of sorts, which would give you some understanding to how one approach may work. What it won’t do is give you a finished game where you can just change out art assets and call it a day.
