I’m looking to form a small team of 3-4 beginner developers who can dedicate at least 2 hours on 2 nights each week. Our goal is to create a collaborative environment where we can work on various game projects together.
Here’s the plan:
Each member will have the opportunity to pitch their game idea.
We’ll vote on which game to develop next, considering factors like complexity, profitability, and development time/expenses.
Profit will be split evenly, with the originator of the game receiving at least 40%.
Our ultimate goals:
Release at least 4 games on game stores.
Create games that people truly enjoy without the “pay to play” model.
Build a strong, collaborative team bond.
If you’re interested and can commit to this schedule, please contact me! (1 experienced developer would be preferred)
Hi there!
I’d love to join your team! I’m definitely a beginner - started learning Unity and C# in March - but I’m a quick learner. Since I only work part-time, I’ve got plenty of time to dedicate to this. I can easily spare two nights a week.
I would be really excited about the chance to work on real projects with a team. There’s only so much you can learn on your own, and I feel like a team project significantly differs from me making my own projects to learn.
I’ve got some game ideas I’d be happy to share too.
Quick question - would it be an issue that I’m based in Poland?
Let me know if there’s anything else I need to do to apply!
Awesome, my thoughts exactly! And not at all, we’re all here to work together and create memorable video games right? Lol…I’m typically a night owl anyway so the time difference won’t matter. I actually just started progressing with my world creation landscape, but it would be nice to actually see how other people make there’s other than from YouTube lol. What have you made so far? I’m decent with drawing, and I’m learning a little bit of 2d animation, and 3D model building.
Lol, 'm glad the time difference won’t be an issue. What you’re making sounds really interesting!
As for what I’ve made so far, I’ve mostly been working on small practice projects to get familiar with the basics. I’ve created a simple 2D delivery driver game (based on a tutorial). The next thing I did was a procedural map generator, which was the first thing I did completely on my own. You can find it on my github: GitHub - AniaBorko/map-gen. Really enjoyed working on it. Currently, I am working on an indle clicker game with a friend. Nothing too fancy yet, but I’m learning a lot with each project.
I don’t have experience with drawing or animation, but I’m really interested in game logic and mechanics. It would be fun to combine your skills and my programming focus and see how they could complement each other I think!
Nice! I didn’t even know a website like that existed, you are already showing me new things lol. Impressive stuff tho, I could definitely help draw pixel art drawings if needed for any 2D projects.
I’m looking to start making the group semi-official when more people are interested, but for now I was thinking about using this post as a chance to request feedback for current projects and just vet each other out and get a sense of what type of games that we can potentially create.
If we made something together your art skills would be absolutely so awesome to have on the team. I struggle with that part the most when making anything. I’d love to see some examples of your work if you have any to share.
As for game ideas, since I already have some experience with procedural generation, we could potentially create a 2D exploration or adventure game with elements of that and cool pixel art? This a very general idea though, just the first thing that came to mind haha
Another idea could be to expand on the clicker game concept I’m working on, but add more visual elements and perhaps a storyline to make it more engaging.
What kind of games are you most interested in creating? Do you have any specific ideas or genres you’d like to explore? I’m open to brainstorming and would love to hear your thoughts!
I’m interested in your offer. I’ve used Unity off and on for a few years, and I have been programming for a few years as well. I have an extensive background in game development, though I’ve never “officially” published anything. I have a talent for “unique problem solving” and a good head for systems design and nothing but time on my hands. As a solo developer of over 20 years, I think I should try and get “social” for a change of pace. I’d love the opportunity to join a small team and work together to bring some amazing stories to the world!
Nice! Sounds like we could pick your brain and learn a few things. I’ve worked on a few 2d projects in the past, but this will be my first try making something 3D on my current project, so any advice would be appreciated. What kind of games do make?
The concepts seem practical and easily executable by everyone. I already have a game idea like that in mind, but brainstorming a fresh concept from various viewpoints would be exciting. At the moment, I’m developing my first 3D Survival game, which revolves around player decisions influencing evolution, presenting quite a challenge to me! My current task is piecing together an intricate map with multiple biomes, and it looks pretty cool so far!
Hey there!
I am a beginner developer with Unity and I have already started a game. I do need some help with my game but I would also love to help others out too if I get the favor in return.
Game: Phoenix Island
3D Battle Royale where you fight 25 players on an island. You play as a big head small bodied player. Fight enemies, survive the Fire Hurricane, and be the last one standing! (The quick general description of the game)
This is one of my old projects I was working on that was an rpg with supernatural creatures as classes instead of the typical wizard/Brute/etc. i may return back to it one day.
That sounds impressive af! I’d love to help with brainstorming with the survival game if you need that at any point haha. As for your older RPG project – the characters look fantastic, and the idea of unconventional classes is great. Honestly, it sounds just like something I’d like to play dude.
Hey I just saw your post today. Wonder if I can join in on that idea.
I am also quite a beginner, I have made two projects (1 ongoing) and put them up on itch.iohttps://dcklgd24anew.itch.io/ Mostly have been learning towards 3D action game types. Besides using the unity engine and C# for it, I also learn to do animation with Blender and also simple 3D modeling at the side.
I have been thinking about how to improve and I think finding a team would really help me learning something new. So if you think your team can fit one more person let me know!
We have several individuals interested in forming a gaming community. To ensure effective communication and organization, let’s aim to set aside a couple of hours on two days each week. During our first meeting, we can discuss specific tasks and skills needed for our projects. For example, I may need someone proficient in digital sculpting to create 100 body shapes or someone skilled in logo design.
We will start with introductions and share our project ideas. Following this, we can brainstorm and decide on a team name. Although this is a new venture for me, I am committed and enthusiastic about this hobby. I believe it can be an enjoyable and rewarding experience for all of us.
I propose our first meeting to be on August 16th, between 8-9 PM Central Time. I look forward to serious inquiries and dedicated participation!
Appreciate that! Lol, but honestly whatever project is the most appealing, I’d be down to contribute to anything! I just want to create a game that’s unique and enjoyable, and learn from some people along the way. I think there a few people who are interested that can help, I hope we can start creating things soon.
