Yesterday my app had 10 ratings and 4.5 stars. This morning, I have 6 ratings and 2.5 stars. I haven’t updated the app in several weeks. What is happening to my ratings?
Also, I have noticed that often the ratings change from one page to another. On the list of apps within a category, it shows one rating. When you go to the details of the app, the rating is different. If you look at the reviews page for that app, a third rating appears, different from the first two.

Each version of your app, have its own ratings.
The overall rating is for all your version ( same App ).
Additionally each selling region (in europe each country) has its own rating and comments.
And yes basically whereever you look you get different infos too. additional to the 3 you found you would likely find additional ones on the iphone …
The app hasn’t been updated in weeks yet the number of reviews dropped between yesterday and today. I would expect the number of reviews to drop when the update is released, but not randomly 2 weeks after. Besides, if it were due to a new version, the number of ratings would drop back to zero not 6.
As for region, I am aware that each region has its own ratings, but unless they moved Seattle to a different region overnight that has nothing to do with the discrepancy I’m seeing.
I’ve seen exactly the same thing. Reviews there one day, gone the next. I don’t know how to check 'em in different countries, just the UK, so it’s not a region thing…!
Another case for reviews vanishing is:
- Unappropriate reviews
- Refunds (as only owners are entitled to post reviews)
- Accounts no longer exist
I would go and check the closed iphone dev boards on this and drop apple a mail if required
