So a week or two ago i had to factory reset my computer due to technical issues, but i forgot to backup my unity project and i already checked organizations and its not there.
I would really hate to lose all the progress i have put into the project as i have worked on it for a year now and was about to release it to the app store, please help with this situation if you can and also refrain from insulting my stupidity.
btw I’ve checked archives, organizations, and even used disk drill to find lost files, couldn’t find it
Well, if you don’t have a backup or a version under source control anywhere, the project is unrecoverably lost.
Even a professional data recovery service is unlikely to restore the entirety of the project since I assume you re-installed the operating system. So there’s a high likelihood of at least parts of the project contents now being overwritten by and replace with new data.
i do happen to have a mobile apk for a dev build i put on my phone, if that helps recover it at all
No, that is built content, not a project. You may be able to extract some of the content with common “modding” tools though but it won’t restore your project.
Even though it sucks, at least i know it cant be fixed, thank you for responding to my post this fast you have been a huge help.

You’re welcome. It’s the closure I intended to provide so you can start anew rather than wasting a lot of time with no outcome. The second try will usually be better anyway as you can apply what you’ve learned.
