Low frame-rate using Google Cardboard SDK

Hi!
For the past few days I have been trying to create a super simple Cardboard app.
The basic idea is it use a sphere with inverted normals and then use the EasyMovieTexture package to play a 360 spherical movie within the spherical-mesh…
However… For some strange reason I get frame-drops and low frame-rate… The sphere is relativly low poly… And the video seams to stream quite smooth… However… IF I turn my head I do experience some sort of “frame-problem”… I have tracked this back to the Cardboard sdk since the same app runs smoothly with the oculus mobile sdk using GearVr… It might also be that the Cardboard SDK has a slow update frequenzy for the gyroscope and there for i experience the movment as a frame-rate problem…

Has any of you guys hade problems with the Cardboard SDK not beeing smooth enough? Any ideas of how to fix it?

I think Unity have said in this forum that they intend to support Cardboard via native VR (the one that came out with 5.1) in the future. Until then, expect Cardboard to perform worse than Gear VR…
