Ludumdare: "Nice Cave"

http://deadpanda.com/lj/ld15submit.html

A little first person adventure game I made for the Ludumdare 48 hour game making contest last weekend. It’s a little rough around the edges, but I managed to finish it on time.

Use mouse to look around, and WASD or arrows to navigate.

you burned my eyes with your horrible graphismes, but i finished the game !!

:stuck_out_tongue:

Disclaimer: I would recommend you please don’t play the game if the graphics burn your eyes.

That was cute. I grabbed a screenshot of the not-penguin for my desktop background at work. 8)

Loved it. Was a great reminder that we don’t have to create these elaborate, complicated, “graphically stunning” games to have something fun.

I really liked how easy it was to get lost.

Hahaha that was awesome. The world needs more exploremups :>

Dock,

You are awesome.

Nice litte game, especially when you are as penguindicted as i am

Fun little game. I got lost so many times, good thing there were penguins!

Cute game, good bit of fun there. Thanks!

Very cool I liked it

I like the strange looking bear thing that tells me he’s not good with computers!

Amazing what you can do with Unity in just 48hrs, isn’t it?!

Dock, you never cease to amaze/amuse me. Awesome game.

awesome. blue penguins are always nice

I also think that “that” penguin is the handsome one in the entire game.

If anyone wants to actually how Dock made the game, he posted a video here:

It’s a timed screen capture from his two monitors over the entire duration of the competition.

What I’m most interested in, is how you got the lack of anti-aliasing. That looks awesome. Does Unity have an import setting that made this easy on you?

This was a fun game. I really liked this.

The gameplay was challenging - not too simple, but not so difficult as to frustrate the player. The key locations were organized so you didn’t have to totally backtrack and get lost as to where you had been and needed to go. Nice planning. You did that perfect.

Graphics were pretty fun. Nice imagation to create the scene. My favorite was the ice flows and water.

Fantastic job. Hard to believe you did this in less than 48 hours (you had to sleep, too).

Old school POWA!!! very cool!
Do you have any share of the music too? ^_^?
This is a Vocaloid track?

Select any texture in your project pane, and you’ll see the option to change the filter mode near the top of the inspector. “Point” gives the effect that dock is using.

I liked it, also I thought the retro graphics fit in perfect.
