m4a in unity3 on MAC no longer supported?

are there any problems with the m4a licences? cause unity3 on mac does not support, detects nor play m4a files anymore!

It was decided that it wasn't worth the trouble to try to get AAC (which is probably what you're referring to; both AAC and Apple Lossless commonly come in the .m4a wrapper) working with the new FMOD backend, in Unity 3. In my blind listening tests I did a couple years ago, AAC sounded better to me, so I'm not pleased, but whatever; there are still problems with MP3 looping, so I'd rather UT get the "easy" stuff working before they ever consider supporting a better-sounding format again.
