I have an old project I’m trying to make builds from.
It all goes to plan but the builds do not open and run on my Mac when double clicked on.
They do not open at all.
It worked fine up until four years ago, and a PC build from the Mac runs fine.
A build I made four years ago of the same project runs fine.
I have tried two different projects and temporarily upgraded to 4.7 in case that fixed it but it made no difference at all to the issue so I went back to 4.6 from Time Machine as I was worried about an upgrade breaking things in the project.
I’ve seen this issue from people making Games on PC’s and exporting to Macs but not on Macs running on Macs.
There are a variety of good reasons why I can’t start again in the latest version and I would like to fix this if possible as the project represents a considerable amount of work.
Huge thanks in advance for any suggestions.
PS, I’m from the Art side so please keep explanations simple!
Thank you!
When you say it doesn’t open at all, what exactly happens when you double click it? Does it appear in the dock at all? Do you get any errors? Or is it as if it wasn’t double clicked at all?
Can you try right clicking on it and pressing “Open” in case that makes a difference?
When I double click on it the icon starts to expand as though it was opening but then stops and nothing happens.
I can right click and see the package contents and it all looks fine as far as I can see.
In “get info” it shows up as an application.
It just doesn’t initiate at all.
I sent Maxine a copy of it by Wetransfer.
I’ve changed my security preferences in System Preferences, but it still insists on only working from the Applications folder.
I can cope with that.
At least it’s working!
