Can anyone tell me if I should use a Mac Emulator to program Unity on my PC, or should I buy a second hand Mac? If an emulator, what is it called? Thank you.
there is no emulator for OSX on pc. If there were you couldn’t use it as you are not allowed to install OSX on anything but an apple machine legally
Thank you Dream. Wow! What a speedy reply! I will look for a second hand Mac.
BroAndrew,
If you have any wish to develop for the iPhone, you HAVE to buy an INTEL based MAC - just thought is was worth mentioning.
Thank you Pete
@BroAndrew
Or you can wait for Unity 2.5. It will run in Windows…
Thanks Gi. I would be happy to wait for the Windows version. By the sound of it, it is close. I wish they would let me beta test it! I wonder how long we will need to wait. I have been searching for a program like this for five years! Meanwhile I have had my fill of Active World builds. If anyone knows how long for the Windows version, please let me know. Thanks everyone.
Though this unity for windows would probably never be able to build for iPod as those projects must go through Xcode which won’t likely be cross-platform any day in this reality.
Thanks again Gi. I am probably not worried about iPod publishing. I want to build a full teaching campus with lecture rooms and theatres. I have done it three times in Active Worlds! I just wrote to support to see if I could purchase a beta version of the Windows Unity and help with the testing.
I have attached a picture of my library in my Active Worlds Campus. But I cannot tolerate the artificial textures of AW. Thanks.
