I was talking with someone in the Unity IRC channel, about macs, he bought a mac mini with dedicated video card Nvidia 9400, i was thinking macbook are better than mac mini, but i´m understanding that is false… they have the same hardware but… why it is cheaper ?.. .

It has 320m, not sure how good is that card to work with Unity in strong projects…
It will be able to run Unity fine. For example, I have a macbook pro with dual graphics cards – intel integrated and Nvidia 330 M. I rarely turn on the 330 M unless I’m going to do a light map, etc.
Don’t expect high framrates from the mac mini, but it can surely run Unity.
hm, ok… but is there a difference in performance between mini and macbook (non pro)
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Mac mini were a bit faster, due to it having a constant power supply, I doubt its processor is ever heavily underclocked, much like a MacBook’s would be.
If you’re debating between the two – choose what you need. They’re more or less going to be the exact same in terms of performance. If you don’t have a notebook, spring for the MacBook. It’s reliable and okay in the speed department. If you get the proper connection, you can also hook it up to a monitor and use it as if it were a desktop in clamshell mode.
If you already have a laptop, and you’re looking for a tiny and inexpensive mac – well, that’s why they made that Mac Mini!
