[Mac os] unity VR without SteamVR ?

hi everyone,

I would like to know if it’s possible to make VR game on mac without steamVR. As steamVR seems no longer maintain.

I’m using the last macbook pro with a the

All the best

Have you considered Oculus Quest or Go?

Yes also.

But I think the image quality and experience is not good as a standalone device.

Even with what said Oculus about a Mac (that’s not powerful). They are currently selling an Oculus Go/Quest with a snapdragon… and this snapdragon is able to run video games.

I mean we don’t need to have photorealistic games but good design.

This is why I ask if it’s possible to make VR application or games with Unity. As I don’t need to make photorealistic applications.

Also one of my project is for Architecture visualisation/modeling (with Rhino3D). I can’t do it as Oculus don’t want to make the device compatible with Mac OS.
Also SteamVR seems stopped.

Sorry, I can’t understand you. So here are some truths:

You can develop for Oculus Go and Quest on a Mac (I’ve done it, as have many others). And the quality is pretty freaking awesome. Yes, it’s not as powerful as a gaming PC, but it’s pretty amazing considering there are no wires and no external trackers. The freedom this gives is more than worth a slightly lower image quality, in my opinion.
