I recently got my Oculus Rift and the 125 day unity pro license that comes with that and I have used it for a 2 weeks or so. So last week I re installed my whole computer and thus the Unity application too.
Now, before I formatted the hard drive I returned the trail license witch I had about 110 days left of I think, and then when yesterday when most of the windows/other programs installation was done, I re installed Unity and activated it. First it worked, but today when I try to open, I get this error:
“Machine identification is invalid for current license”
And then some Addresses to Unity support page. Now, I’m going to send them an email if no one here can help me, but I just thought I’d give it a try here first. What does this error message mean? When I google it, NOTHING show up :S.
Any one with any idea?
Btw, not that I think it matters. But when i activated my license it was on a hard drive connection to a specific port on the motherboard, yesterday i switched port for unrelated reasons and I think it haven’t worked since then. I have tried connecting it to the old port with no result. But what can’t have anything to do with it, right?
Goodday all I’m new here and I’m faced with the same problem don’t really know what to do anymore and this is what happend -I have download Unity 3d 4.5.2.f1 from unity store on my new dell latitude. After installation it asked for license and I used my previous license of my unity3d 4.2.1 that I used on my previous dell machine and now it shows ‘machine identification is invalid for current license’ please help me resolve this problem.
I suggest trying a re-activation of the license, i got this message after my laptop was re-imaged by my school once, although my issue was trying to re-use the license file from the previous windows install… The fix was a simple re-activation of the free license. For Pro users, I presume that it would be as simple as re-entering the license key into the activation window and downloading a new license, but I’m not sure otherwise.
