Made with Unity on Linux

it was suggested that I post here, perhaps to encourage others to also post things they make.

We made our jam game in last weekend’s Ludum Dare 100% using the experimental build of Unity3D on Linux. The system used was Manjaro (Plasma 5 desktop) and using a Unity build from about 2 weeks ago.

Nice! Can you try to export your game to WebGL? Don’t have the webplayer here

I can try! Have not tested that yet. (There are download links on the page too)

Tested on Linux

I played a bit, it’s fun, good job. I’m glad you made is in your Linux system  Any news about the WebGL build? Take a look at the release note, because you have to install node and some other dependencies.

Very nice! I like the art style, exporting from Minecraft is a novel idea! I suppose Minecraft is one of the best voxel editors on the market :stuck_out_tongue:

Graphic maybe is not Full HD , but idea is good, so game is good,
game working good on PCLinuxOS, (Linux files)
good job.

The game will run in full HD just fine.

If you plan updating this:
prevent players from running away while interacting like this ^^:

also I would make the ‘freed monster’ splash screen transparent or maybe pause the game as otherwise you might get caught while being ‘blind’.
Also there’s some weird shadow as seen here:

Otherwise the game is a really fine small game with a great soundtrack too

Yup, we were aware of these issues when we uploaded the game, but when the deadline is close you have to decide what you want to fix and what you want to leave until later. Definitely later!

Also the vision cone indicators are a bit ugly, the invisible border walls, some performance issues, etc.

Nice, that’s cool!

I am very new to the Unity framework, and am so happy to be able to finally be able to use it with this linux releases!

Please check out my game that I made with it for the August 1GAM!

I have to say that this was a very good game, good music etc. I decided to test it and got stuck, being me that is a very good rate

I am completing a project started in Windows…

I tested on Ubuntu 14.04 nice game!

@ma1onso good job! I can’t complete my current project until the editor is not updated to 5.2

Thank you man… Why not?

Just tested our in-development project, Tacoma.

Worked better than I thought it would at this early stage. Can’t wait for the Linux editor to be on-par with OSX/Win and be part of official releases so I can use my preferred OS for development. Thank you so much for the Linux support!

I did a quick “game in 48 hours” this week, actual dev time was well under that, maybe 18? All on Linux, even the art. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nwz.spacecrashers
