I have been working on these new staff weapons for the asset store. My main focus was to make a good variety, customizable crystals using Tint shader effect and different particle effects. I might add more staves before I can move onto my next set of weaponry.
All staff use a diffuse, specular and selfillumination tintable shader for the crystals. The tri count varies from 500-1000ish. The texture sizes are all 512 for the staff and 256 for the crystals.
I am looking for feedback on design, pricing suggestions and other ways to improve the asset. Do you folks have any preference on any style or design you would like to see? any requests?
In terms of other staff designs, I’d love to see one a bit more gruesome that would be a good match for an evil sorcerer or necromancer. Something like a knobly wooden staff tipped with either a creature’s severred hand holding a gem or a skull with one of those gems in its mouth or eye sockets.
In terms of price, I’d probably pay around $15 for the above staffs. Would go to $20 if you added the skull one described above. Probably don’t need more than 6 staffs in total though as I already have several for the wizard models in my game.
you are absolutely right, i am lacking dark magic staffs. I will add your evil sorcerer staff to this list. i was thinking 15$ for the above anyways. so glad to know that i was thinking of the right pay amount. for your kind feedback, once i am done with the dark staff ill gift it to you
another interesting thing i noticed, and i find this flattering that this artist tried to mimic my work. This was approved by unity very recently as well and i cannot help but notice that the staff style is very similar to mine.
