Major issues with the Asset server

I can’t seem to get the server to working correctly and i have tried every work around i can find.

I’m on a regular windows 8.1 version and it seems those that has gotten it to work on windows 8 run the pro version.

The server does start, and my other computer can “see” it but it refuses to connect to it although i type the right login/password.

When i try to reset the password though it says something about not finding a certain exe file and that the admin account does not exist.

Has anyone gotten it to run on a regular win 8 install? And if so how?

Nope. It seems to be a problem with user rights and in win 8.1 (non pro) you can’t make the changes necessary.
