Major Snow Leopard Problem

Hello Unity People:

Here is my problem. I recently switched to Snow Leopard from Leopard. When I opened up Unity, Unitron kept renaming my files to lowercase. Also, the game would preview, and I had to rename lots of files just to get it to run.

I read that renaming every file to lowercase would help, so I created an automator action to do this. When I did this and re-opened Unity, I found that all my data was still there, and my hierarchy was still intact, but the problem is this:

My meshes don’t show up. When I click on them in the hierarchy, it says the mesh and materials are missing. Any way I can fix this?

UT has stated previously that Unity 2.5 is not certified for Snow Leopard. Unity 2.6 will support Snow Leopard.

I should have known the risks. I know there is no official release date, but will it be out soon?

By the way, I opened up a scene with TextEdit, and it shows references to my files. So the data is still there, Unity just can’t interpret it…

I’m having exactly the same problem and have had it happen several times (the renaming of scripts)

Where exactly did Unity say that Snow Leopard wasn’t supported?

However, this problem occurs with Unity iPhone as well.

Damn, oh well

I’m only picked up a mac recently for unity iphone dev so I’m pretty terrible with it - is there an easy way to rollback to leopard?

I get the problem neither in Unity iPhone 1.5 nor Unity Desktop on SL 10.6.1

That’s because you’re cooler than everyone else.

I was on SL 10.6.1 on a new MiniMac and the file renaming has been driving me crazy. Luckily my wife had a copy of 10.5 from her laptop (which is now on 10.6). Let’s hope it is stable now

The file renaming is making me really miserable, its just breaking my game every 5 minutes

To downgrade can I just put the leopard install disk in to roll back to that?

I’ve had a look around on google for the answer but nothing is very helpful
