Makehuman ->Blender -> Animeeple ->Unity Workflow?

Hello,

since a few months I’m messing around to find a workflow which enables me to use makehuman 0.9 or 1.0 models, skin them in blender, animate them in Animeeple with bvh files and import the resulting model+animation into unity.

I have a lot of problems with that:

  • Makehuman 0.9 uses >1 materials and a strange uv layout which won’t be recognized by animeeple
  • Makehuman 1.0 models use only 1 material, work in blender but animeeple always crashes during importing the FBX file I exported from blender 2.5 before.

Unity works well with models made with makehuman and skinned/exported by blender.

Does anyone have a working workflow from makehuman to blender to animeeple to unity?

Is it possible to import only the model to unity and after that import a bvh animation to unity and to combine them there?

Thank’s a lot. This workflow makes me crazy!

I know this may be no big help, but have you tried it with Blender 2.49? Blender 2.5 is still beta …

Do you have the latest SVN Version of 2.5? Can be grabbed here: Call IGraph - Graphical modeling software reviews

While at Blender 2.5. In case the fbx file fails in other apps too, then it would be a good idea to make a bug report in the blender bugtracker :slight_smile:

Thanks for your answer, Tiles. I’ll try out the new version of blender. But I don’t think that this is the only problem.

Has nobody ever used the workflow I described here?

Hi jomeier,

I think you misunderstand. He wants you to try out the -old- version of blender not the new one. While 2.5 has an interface that is finally worth interfacing with, it’s FBX export isn’t working yet.

Correction, i want him to try both :smile:

I made several models in Blender 2.53. They are not automatically imported in Unity, but I was able to export every of those models manually.
