Making a 3d game

I just recently got a job where I am using C#, I want to start diving into game development in my spare time, but everywhere I read it says that Unity lacks in graphical ability. Is this true? My wife is a 3d modeler/animator but I keep seeing Unity is more for 2d and mobile games, I am not into that. So is this still a good choice to use?

If you’ve only just started developing in Unity, you’re not going to be pushing up against any perceived limitations anytime soon.

This game was made with Unity:

Would you consider that good enough?

It’s going to come down to your own skill and ability more than the engine, though.

There are thousands of games made with Unity, and many of them are 3D. You can definitely make 3D games with Unity.

Do your wife work with lowpoly workflow? Otherwise it might be better to wait for Nanite :stuck_out_tongue:
