Making a game like gta

Hey guys. I know this is not a simple question but if you could answer it that would be great! I want to how long it might take me if i was making a game like san andreas. Rockstar made it in like 3 years but would it be easier with unity?

I remember someone else asking this EXACT question about a week ago. Are you for real?

If you want to make game like SA then you need a team if you make big game like SA whit 5-10 people 2-3 years…but if you are new in unity…and you want to make San Andreas alone… 20-40 years, XD!

It took R* over five years, and several hundred people working in what some claim to be less than ideal conditions to make a game like GTA. It's unlikely that you will be able to do it solo in less time. http://kotaku.com/5444150/alleged-unfair-work-conditions-at-rockstar-san-diego

but R* didn't use Unity! it'd probably only take them a month or two if they did!

I think they build their games from the ground up, building their own software.
