I’m at the point now where I have a game, and I’d like to create a video that shows off some of it.
Can someone recommend a solid tool for making such a video?
What are most of the Unity folks using for their in-game footage?
Thanks.

I have successfully used the software from http://www.bbsoftware.co.uk. If it hasn’t changed, they have a free version which works really well for both Unity and GMStudio games, among others. Some have reported issues with fraps, and they don’t have a good free version. Also, the one I mention records sound if you want. Just remember that depending on your computer, your game’s framerate will go down. How much that happens depends things like your hard drive speed, RAM speed, and the original speed your game is running at in the first place. A solution to get around that problem lies in using a separate computer that can receive video input and then record it. I don’t know much about that process but I know it exists.
Active Presenter!
Download the free version.
You can record games with it too! ![]()
Cam Studio is another good one.

You can get the portable version of Camstudio on Portable Apps.com.

I got a warning from my antivirus about CamStudio. Says something like ADWARE/InstallCo.zkw was blocked.
Anyone know about adware in CamStudio?
Thanks.
Best software for recording screen, streaming and such stuff. You also can get 30 days trial.
Something similar to that happened, when I had AVAST installed on my laptop, 1.5 years ago.
Whenever I tried to install any graphic software programs or other etc.
It would detect some adware and malware.
Then I found out on the Avast forums that many people, went through the same problem as me.
And it turned out to be a glitch in the Avast antivirus. ![]()
Are you using the Camstudio portable?
Or the full version of Camstudio?
I recommend the portable version as it is easier to remove from your PC etc. if problems arise. ![]()
As for the Adware,…if when installing Camstudio, you see an option asking you, if to install any browser or other etc, click no!
I like this one:
It’s open source so completely free! It’s meant for streaming but it also has a output to file option.
I second OBS… Unless you have an Nvidia card with shadowplay.
I like https://obsproject.com/
its free and open source
