Man with shotgun in coat. 3d characterAnimation pack for various gameplay

Hi everyone.
I start to work with this asset about 8 months early. As a result, I want to get an universal animation package for 3d character with different weapons like shotgun, machinegun, knife.
Likely it will approach to various gameplay types. For example - third person shooter, 2.5d real time strategy shooter, platformers, beat em up and for the bots animation of first person shooter.

The work consists of several stages:

  1. Full body marker tracking, retargeting and cleaning animations.
  2. Looping animations and return ends of all animations in default poses.
  3. Drawing the animation maps.
  4. Finish cleaning and setup controllers for all bones. For example rotation of secondary bones of each joints.
  5. Setup physic of coat bones and baking it.
  6. Looping coat bones.
  7. Render and edit presentation video.
  8. Import in unity5, setup Mechanim animator and writing control scripts.

CURRENT PROGRESS

It is my first asset. What you think? I do everything right and useful?

Thanx for replies.

Some animations whithout textures and physic in 3ds max.

Knock back and death animations look acceptable.
All others really need some work to make them look good enough for this community. Did you say these were mocap animations? If these are in fact motion capture - I suggest firing the motion capture actor and replacing him with a good one right away, then recapturing all motions. The motions are really odd, out of balance with the center of gravity out of alignment and other oddities, like the legs look mysteriously too long.
The walking looks ok if a little too much bebopping, to much bouncy movement. Badass guys don’t bounce and strut like that. They are more stiff and cooler, calm and collected, usually.
Sneaking, Run, kicking, jumping and walking while aiming are all out of balance the root node should be center aligned between the center of the shoulders and the knees. All these balance issues need to be corrected before attempting to sell on the asset store.

middle correct left and right wrong.

Another example of proper root node placement in relation to shoulders and knees for balance.

Would like to see the coat after the physics bake has been complete.

Thanx for answer. This animations are not completely ready. It requires a lot of work with transitions in idle animations.
I Have a problem with bone lokal rotating, when skeleton was exported from motionbuilder to 3ds max. It need reconstructions with controllers.

Third Person GamePlay Walk Test. Pose One Idles, Rotate 180, Walk, WalkTurns.

Looks amazing, this will be great with our Shooter Template :stuck_out_tongue:

His looks remind me of Dante from DmC. I like the pants used in the first picture of him better than the video

Okay. I will make the new pants and coat in Mudbox. In the end of work. Its need the new normal and Diffuse map.

Now I am planning

  1. the real walk stopping from left and right footstep. Like in GTA5.
  2. 180 degrees walk rotate and start walk.
  3. Sit Idle.
  4. Sit walk.

Thanx. I like to work alone. All under my control.

I feel I should say both look good on him, in the end it’s how you like him
I also wanna ask if the Protagonist (Antagonist?) of the game Hatred was a little inspiration for him?

My god its Jason Bourne.

It is just Cheapest mocap system in the world test

People.
I did not know. But warning you.
Never make the animation asset with gameplay. Your beard can grow into a window and a hundred generations of birds will nest there

I have not done it yet
Sit Movies.
Sideways movements.

But I finish.

Pose1 Walk Rotate 180 degrees.
Pose 2 Aiming and Shoot.
Pose2 Walk.
Pose2 Walk Turns And Shoot.
Pose1 Walk and Run Stopping
Pose1 to pose 2 transitions and blendings.

Now I need to do.
IK floor footsteps,
Pose1 to Pose2 rotations with transitions.

And MORE and MORE.

By the way. Look at feet shaking in GTA5. Natural motion? The
team of professionals?

Maybe he’s nervous.
