Managing Too Many Player Animations for Player Character


I’m working on managing multiple animations in Unity’s Animator Controller. I have around 10 animations for my character (idle, walk left, run directions, etc.), and it’s getting complex to keep track of all the transitions etc. Look at attached image to see current state of animator.

Is there a recommended way to organise these animations for better clarity and control ?


Haha, That looks funny, What you are missing out is Blend Trees. Go and learn about animator controllers blend trees and use those instead of a million bools.

Example: You can have one blend tree for locomotion, It will use two float parameters and you will set those through your script.

Just go and learn about blend trees and you should be able to manage your animation with Ease.
