I just imported my project into 5.6.0b3 and my third person controller mesh/bones are twisted with most of his body facing backwards while his feet still seem to face forward. Works fine in 5.5.
If, as you mentioned, the same project works in Unity 5.5, I would assume it’s a bug introduced in Unity 5.6 beta and submit a bug-report.
Don’t miss to post the Case number from the bug-report confirmation email here as well, this allows Unity to find your bug-report if they look at this forum post.
Thanks, will do. I tried deleting my character and starting with the default Ethan but still had same issue. Then started with a new clean project and it worked. So there’s something specific about my project and Beta 5.6.
I resolved it. Just had to re-import the model. I thought any import would have been covered when I imported the whole project but I guess not. It only affected models using the “humanoid” rig not my own. I guessing the issue was in the avatar and bone assignments even though they looked identical before and after.
Is it me or the Humanoid rig now has an upper chest bone too? I don’t recall seeing it in 5.5 or previous versions. For me that caused the same issues as nbruty had.
From the overall 5.6 changelog:
- Animation: Added a 3rd spine bone, UpperChest, to humanoid rig.
