Map for a game I'm working on.

Hello everyone, my name is Logan. I’m working on a survival PvE game set in a post apocalyptic scenario. I understand there’s PLENTY of post apocalyptic games, but that’s what’s popular, and I’d like to try my hand at one, and learn about game making at the same time.

I’m not going to post about the plot or anything right now, due to it not being finished, but I will show one of the (planned 3-4) maps. Most of the maps will be mountainous, because I think survival would be the hardest in such a place.

I LOVE constructive criticism, so do your worst/best. PLEASE tell me what I should change, fix, or add to the current map.

Please refer to this thread for more details!

Thanks!

There isn’t really much to comment on, to be honest. Just by using that one image as a reference, it looks pretty good. Maybe some variation in the flat area in the center, maybe some rolling hills, etc.?

Thanks, I’ll definitely look into that!

Only tip I can really throw out there, throw in the fps character controller and see if you can run around to all the places you want to get to. Eg the cliff section looks like it might be difficult to get up to.
other than that it’s looking good so far.

I’d suggest taking a look to SixTimesNoting’s terrain toolkit and play with the erosion settings a little bit, it adds more realism than a hand-done terrain

Well, It’s too early to get any feedback, as there isn’t much to get feedback on. It would be helpful to at least be able to assess the scale. Throw some trees or something there. Also, it’s not clear if that is a lake or a field, so some basic texturing needs to be done first.
Good luck and it’s great to know you’re not doing another slender game

He has a new thread here: http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/165156-The-Remaining-A-post-apocalyptic-survival-game.

Haha, don’t worry! There’s what, like 500 of those now?

Yep, still you don’t want multiple threads to get everyone confused ;). Following your game BTW.

Thanks! And your’s looks great as well!
