Mars 225 million km on Unity 3D?

Wow. This is hard. I’m not expert in Unity programming. I’ve download Earth Planet Free on App store. I’ve created Earth and Mars. I found one website says Earth to Mars is 78,340,000 km.

“THE DISTANCE BETWEEN EARTH AND MARS IS 0.52 AU. THAT’S APPROXIMATELY 78,340,000 KM OR 48,678,219 MILES.” (planets.org)

Another distancetomars.com give me 27 pixels - 3,474km.
Google give me 225 million km.

The minimum distance from the Earth to Mars is about 54.6 million kilometers. The farthest apart they can be is about 401 million km. The average distance is about 225 million km - Feb 29, 2012. Space dot come.

I want to make simple program. How far should I put Mars on Unity 3D…Is this correct?

Right off the bat: Don’t expect to do millions of miles in Unity. Remember that in Unity, 1 unit = 1 meter. I think I’ve read somewhere (please correct if I’m wrong) that you shouldn’t go over 30,000m.

In theory, going over is possible but can result in unwanted bugs (due to the editor being 32 bit, if my brain hasn’t mixed anything up).

I would scale your universe down, because having millions of miles is just not feasible.
