MARS Rules Webinar - On-Demand!

Hello everyone! Excited to share with you this upcoming webinar for Unity MARS Rules...

Bend the Rules with Unity MARS
What: Join this webinar to see how Rules, the latest Unity MARS feature, further simplifies how you set up and manage your AR app development. It’s a plain-language-based workflow that lets you quickly define how you want your digital content to respond to the real world.

In this webinar, you'll learn how:

  • To create simple rules that describe AR scenarios and interactions
  • This new workflow provides many productivity benefits
  • To get started using Rules in your own AR projects

…and much more.

Watch on demand here!

Let us know if you have any questions. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Hi! I missed this and i'm very interested. Is the video archived somewhere?

Yes! You can still click on the same link and it will lead you to an On-Demand version

Hello. I’d appreciate it very much if you could answer my questions about this presentation.

  • How to import a photogrammetric model into Simulation View? (Elapsed time around 28 minutes on the video)
  • How do you link a photogrammetric model with Traits such as Door arch?
  • Is Synthesized Objects tied to the Semantic Tag?
  • How do I create a Synthesized Object?
  • Is Synthesized Objects linked to AR cloud?
  • Is it possible to work with AR cloud?

Cross-posting the answer from email:

We did a workshop where we created a simulation environment live, listed in this thread:

You can accomplish what your'e looking for by following these instructions, but using a photogrammetry model you have imported into Unity instead. A blog post on this subject is coming soon.

The traits used in the rules demo were authored manually using synthesized objects. The workshop linked above also goes over synthetic objects. To be brief, Synthesized Objects are Unity GameObjects with traits, that translate into AR data.

Additionally, here are the docs on creating Simulation Environments:

Let us know if any of that falls short!

Thanks @philc_unity .
I loved the video you made on MARS Rules.
You showed using a mesh to occlude other objects. I really need to know how that worked. Can you explain? Or point me at the docs? I can't seem to find anything on this.

hello @Blinxel_AR , I am not sure which mesh you are talking about; but when you scan the environment and planes get generated as you scan, said planes occlude content; hence its something that happens by design.

Yes, I accidentally discovered that last night.
Love MARS, not a fan of the docs yet. But I'm learning.

Agreed, the docs are not very friendly towards new user to AR world that your trying to draw in
