Mars Terrain
This environment package is ideal for your adventure missions on desktop platforms. It is highly configurable and the assets look perfect from close up making it ideal for first person games. The Unity terrain blends seamless into a low poly surrounding mesh, which in turn blends seamless into a terrain baked onto the skybox to create the feeling of an endless landscape of mountainous dunes.

Geology: Southern Martian Highlands
Ancient planet-scale lava oceans once covered this Martian landscape. Now scarred by ages of impact cratering and impact beccia, the rough terrain is covered by a thin veneer of iron-oxide dust carried by intense winds in the thin atmosphere.

Rocks:
A set of 9 rocks and boulders. These are sandstone rocks and works well on mountainous parts of your scene. All rocks are low poly with multiple LODs and mobile ready with high res textures in case you need close up approaches.

Geology - Rocks: Bioturbated sandstone, fossil hash, porous sandstone
Fossilized shallow marine critters once burrowed into the beach sands of these coastal sediments, creating voids and an irregular burrow fabric which has resulted in a porous sandstone with weathered rusty hematite nodules. The exposed crevices and tubules now still make for good cover and habitat for more modern creatures.

Props:
A set of game ready props modelled to create an adventure atmosphere. The ruins you find are a dome with vegetation, a space car and a satellite. All props are low poly with multiple LODs and mobile ready with high res textures in case you are targeting high end devices.

Multiple terrains:
This terrain is part of a huge set of terrains. By adding more terrains you can add multiple levels to your game. Each terrain will have a similar design style and similar performance specifications. See a complete list of available terrains here: Portfolio - Egamea PTY (LTD)

Top-up on assets:
We have created a huge database of assets. You can add more props, trees, vegetation, rocks and boulders to your terrain. All assets have been designed with the same style and is fully compatible with this terrain. For a list of additional assets follow the following links:

Hey guys.

It looks like an editor script slipped into the custom LOD DLL

We will update the asset store version but this may take a while to get approved by Unity.

In the meantime this package will fix the issue:

Simply import the package and everything should run correctly.

Mars Terrain version 1.1:

We are happy to announce that we have corrected an editor script which had slipped into the custom LOD DLL.

If you have purchased the asset, please download the latest version.

Hey!

Love the asset - I’ve loaded up the Terrain but I’m a little stumped with the terrain layers - I can’t see to find them at all in the import and it’s left me with a chequered ground.

Any advice welcome

Thanks,

Glad you like it! Which version of Unity are you using?

Hey, 2019.4.20f1 - I do note in your release that it’s designed for 2018, however the descriptor did specify 2019 support also.

Many thanks,

Hi cptsamtastic,

The imported terrain seems to reference layers that are not in the project.
You will need to remove the layers and created new ones.
You can do that when selecting the terrain, then switch to the paint texture tool.
There you will see the terrain layers, but have nothing assigned to them.
Select “Edit Terrain Layers…” and then remove those layers.
Select “Edit Terrain Layers…” again and create new layers.
The all the textures and splatmap are in the TerrainFiles folder.
Create the layer for Texture 1 first then 2, etc.
The normal and splat map can be added to the selected terrain layer in the inspector.
The Channel remapping can be set to display on the preferred color of the splat map.
I set all Values to 0 for each terrain layer.
You can then set the preferred color max value to 1.
Texture 1: Red Max Value 1
Texture 2: Green Max Value 1
Texture 3: Blue Max Value 1
Texture 4: Alpha Max Value 1

I hope this helps. Thank you for your support. Please let us know if there are any other issues.
