Hello All,
I don’t know if its right place but it’s about assets asset store, so i’m writing it to here;
I noticed, some users running their own asset stores, so as a 9 year of software developer i noticed they are efficient but not yet quite handy/informative etc.
So here is me, developing an asset store project for everyone that can buy it for a fair price, run their own asset stores as they want and don’t bore the user. Here is what i’m planning to do;
- Create a project that anyone easily install (Like wordpress etc.)
- Sign Up/In with open ids (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
- Sign Up/In with own accounting system.
- Up to 1.000.000+ Assets running smoothly.
- Fully Controllable CMS With Categories → Sub Categories → Pages (You can publish documents, tell users something, do some tutorials for your website users etc.)
- Fully Integrated payment system via paypal.
- Playing sound samples via website.
- Asset Viewing (*).
- Admin can now add asset previews as much as he/she wants such as; Static image, Video, Animated Image, Unity Asset Viewer.
- Admin can now choose whether or not use Unity Asset Viewer on individual items.
- NEW* - Admin can now set two price for individual items (Indie, Pro)
Now i want to tell something about Asset Viewing here, i’m building a viewer (Unity Web App) that do this things;
1-) If its a texture, admin can select if its on a plane with basic lighting, or it’ll be painted on random generated terrain for user to see what he’s actually buying and how it looks on engine.
2-) If its a static model, show it with a basic lighting setup, on a 360 degree controllable turn-table.
3-) If its a skinned (animated) model, admin can choose which animation will be avaliable to buyer and set prices for each animation.
4-) If its a multiple mesh skinned (animated) model, admin can choose which model parts will be avaliable to buyer and set prices for each mesh.
5-) When user want specific animation/mesh he or she can build a pack on her/his own then buy it.
Theese are my opinions, considering i didn’t sleep for straight 30+ hours, this all can be reaaaally silly, or not. Please comment here what do you think about this.
Here is a screen shot for a really early stage of end-user index:
