Masking animation so only upper body is enabled ~ Half working, kinda?

Hi, so I am having issues disabling animation parts correctly. In my scene I have changed this characters legs to be like so: Screenshot - 0ce3122f5368d693210d91fcf437e21d - Gyazo

And I have the actual animation in the fbx changed to be like: Screenshot - 17ca8b9b3a6e2152ef4f28a3030f8409 - Gyazo

So that the lower half doesnt animate. Just head/chest/arms. But when I hit play it does this: Screenshot - 8c75dc38bf82ab84c246f078890629f2 - Gyazo

Is there a way to prevent it from altering the rotations I set on the actual root of the prefab?

Very difficult to see what ‘change’ is made here. How do the legs look normally? Is the change the legs are slightly bent back?

Do you have animation layers set up?

Do you mean - is there a way to prevent the legs from inheriting the root rotation?
