OK, on to the next issue on my evaluation list. I tried the Place Mass Trees function and it nicely randomly place 10000 trees for me. However, when I try to Undo it, there is no undo. In addition, it auto saves the new trees even if I quit and say don’t save.
So where do I find these trees in the hierarchy so I can “mass” delete them?
Another thing. How can you select the trees and change their position? I don’t seem to be able to select any of the palm trees, brush, or other foliage and modify them.
OK, I’ve figured out how to do some things with the trees once they are placed. However, I still see no way to have control over an individual tree. I can select the Terrain node, and place or remove trees en masse, but nothing to click a single tree and move it around. I’m assuming if you place them one at a time that I could manipulate them that way, but it would be nice to place a batch and then go in and adjust one or two if they don’t quite get placed right.
And I still see the Undo and Auto Save of mass trees as a bug that needs to be fixed.
Also, the erase tree feature doesn’t work properly. I can place a single tree with a brush size of 1, but when I click while holding control, it doesn’t go away. Occasionally it erases after clicking several times all around the tree, but sometimes not at all.
True, but the point is that it’s not an accurate method of working and can be frustrating to deal with. It would be much nicer to be able to pick individual trees like you do with other entities. That seems to work very well.
If I’m not mistaken, then this brush on terrain gismo was discussed some time ago and will not be implemented in unity. I can imagine that it surely isn’t so easy to do…
It might be easier if it coulr be displayed as a wireframe sphere or so, but then you have 2 dimension too much…
