when you look down… LOL!
but yes, it does remove that “floaty” feeling in a lot of first-person games. nice job.

I don’t know why won’t just add proper animated “whole” model (think AssCreed one for example) and put camera just before nose bridge. Not only you’d be able to see yourself holding a weapon, but also would see yourself in mirrors, etc.

With modern hardware, I don’t think it’d pose serious performance hit either.

It’s because in most fp games, you show the weapon, or sometimes two weapons, that you’re holding on the sides of the screen. If you want to do that in real life you need to be holding your hands close together and up by your face and always moving them around with your face when you turn your head, basically like a crazy person. It looks equally ridiculous if you have a 3D character doing it. If you were making a game where you don’t care about showing the hands/weapons unless you’re actually looking down it might work.

As makeshiftwings said - the expectancy from how things look from the actual 1st person and the character represented in the world can make a huge difference. It’s not as easy as placing a camera:

LOL.

A simpler way would be to add a fat stomach. That way when you look down all you see is your fat belly.

Oh, any they appear to be glow-in-the-dark legs possibly made of Uranium.

that video is GREAT!

hehe thanks

Because it would look terrible.
The game that did it best (referring to being able to see your body through a first person camera) is Mirror’s Edge. There is a third-person mod for it and guess what? It’s completely unsuitable.
