I added a MAX file and folder called textures to the assets folder for my project and none of the textures showed up in Unity only the mesh. I used Architectural materials in MAX. When I change the material in MAX from “Architectural” to “Standard” and save the MAX file Unity automatically updates and the texture shows up!! Maybe “Standard” material in MAX needs to be used at all times for it to show up automaticaly in Unity? Anyone else have comments on this subject??
Yes, that is correct - you need to use standard materials.
3dsMax files are imported through FBX and FBX can not carry advanced materials, so simply use standard materials in max.
