Maya animation curves without joints

I’m attempting to write out animation curves from Maya without any joints or IK setups, just raw animation curves. I can see the .anim files Unity writes out are binary but wondering if there is a built-in way in Unity to read Maya’s .atom files instead, or if anyone can recommend an Autodesk compatible plugin which writes out curves in the .anim format?
