Maya animation walk cycle

Should I be animating in Maya at 30fps ? It seems like a high figure … but I read somewhere that iPhone runs at 30fps ? so is this in fact the best frame rate to animate in since I am planning to port to iPhone…

If I animate at 12fps ( like Disney) will I run into issues once I load into Unity ?

If I simply animate at 12fps will Unity automatically adjust the timing when it exports for iPhone ?

Animations used in unity are continuous in nature. That means the animation is independent of FPS.
Game can run at variable FPS so it impossible to judge it and than create animation. Unity first samples the continuous animation graph to get discret values depends on the current FPS.
