Maya character floating

Hi there,

I bring characters into Unity from Maya and they float around. In the past I have deleted history and re-exported them. Does not work???

Can anyone please help me?

Thanks, Trianone

Make sure in maya your character is in the center. I think center pivot or something like dat. (Note cp might make it worst so be sure to make a backup). Sorry maya not that good but i know is something to do with how you place in maya. Just need to freeze position or what. Not very sure.

Yes, its definately centered. Pivot and all-not sure at all whats happening-I can see if History was left on but its not.Thank you, any more help is GREATLy appreciated:)

Okay. Try grouping your models together/combining mesh. And just another note. Go to your outliner and look for white color nodes. Usually that is an empty node. Just delete it. If not just press ungroup on your item. Make sure it is one grp/mesh rather than several mesh/grps.

Okay.Thank you. I should mention that the only geometry in my scene is my character mesh with the Bindpose Skeleton seperate. So aside from the default lighting that is all in my Outliner.

Essentially, I am taking a character, unbinding it, adding new geometry(new hair-with a combine in maya), then deleting By type history, re-binding, and painting weights all over again…character is floating violently in unity, when the only history on it is the skin cluster and tweak.

SOLVED-optimize scene size:) Thank you for your help!!!
