Maya FBX export gives strange shading on models

Hello.i am using Maya 2011 and MotionBuilder 2011. I made this tree type monster in maya its the NR.2 in the pictures. If i export it from maya as fbx2010 everything looks great in unity. I imported this model in MotionBuilder and made some animations. Than i exported it to fbx. Motionbuilder exports the model in fbx2011 so the model in unity looks great but doesnt have animations. I imported that fbx from Motionbuilder in Maya and from there saved it to fbx2010. My problem is that this fbx2010 saved from maya when imported to unity has all the animations but it looks very dark no matter how i rotate it or where i place it NR.2 on the pictues. I am trying now to find a way to export from motionbuilder to fbx2010 and try that but i didn’ find a way yet.

i didnt manage to find how to export from motionbuilder to fbx2010. i found something about going to the python menu and from there set the export to fbx 2010 but i couldnt find it. does anyone know how to export to 2010 or why does this problem occur?

from what i can see, it looks like the normals could be reversed

I tried inverting the normals in maya but if i do that than my mesh becomes transparent, i can see the inside faces. I have no idea what is going on, becouse if i animate in maya end export to unity everything works great but if i add the animation in motionbuilder and than back to maya and than in unity, i get this problem

The problem is related with the fbx2011 plugin becouse i instaled a trial of motionbuilder 2010 an everything work great
