so i’ve been working with unity for a while now, and since i’m thinking of including it in a course next year i thought i’d try starting all over with a new project from the ground up and see what i’ll need to cover.
but i’m still feeling like an idiot. any maya scene i save in my Assets folder appears in unity’s project list, but with NO mesh “pipeline,” at least that’s how i’m understanding it. thus they are invisible objects when placed in the unity scene. i’m not getting an fbx conversion error message either. but it seems the only way to get a maya scene to work is to manually export an fbx file from maya. then it shows up with it’s “Lod Mesh” listed underneath the scene name in the project view.
so, anyone like to tell me what simple, dumb thing i’m doing or not doing?
