Maya Rigs Import Corruption

Long time reader - first time poster…

I am using Unity 2.5 Pro on the Mac (although the same issue exists on the PC)

I purchased a professionally made completely rigged Maya model of a person. I’m not sure if I my license allows my to distribute it - so I attached 2 screen captures. As you can see the Maya model looks fine - but when I import into Unity, everything works except the arms?

Has anyone seen anything like this? I have been through the model with my animator and we can’t find anything that looks off. I have reviewed and looked at all the FBX importer settings I can think of, and nothing makes a difference. This also happened in 2.1. Lastly, this model works in other 3D packages.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at my wits end. I’m hoping someone has seen behavior before.

Hey Burtona,

Wow, that guy is limber. We haven’t seen this kind of thing very often. Really the most useful thing you could do in this case is to file a bug report, and attach the .mb and .fbx with it. We keep all submissions completely confidential, private and delete them after testing, so your model would be quite safe with us. Examining the model up close is really the best way for us to figure this out, so we’d really appreciate it. ^^
