Hi
I created a character in Maya and am trying to export to unity.
1 I’ve baked the mesh and the joint animations.
2. Ive tried baking only the Joint animations
3. Hell I’ve tried everything.
If I only export the Mesh it imports fine to Unity but with the joints I get what you see in the attachment.
The weird thing is. The same files worked like a charm yesterday.
Any tips or ideas of what could cause this would be great.
BTW… I re-import the FBX file back into Maya and it looks great. Animations and all.
Going into unity the FBX file screws up.
Looking at your channel control there, looks like your scale hasn’t been frozen. Try freezing transforms on me
mesh and skeleton.
good luck

Thanks for the reply. But I cant Maya gives me “Error: Freeze Transform was not applied because GLOBAL.translateX has incoming connection.”
Okay looks like we found a solution to this problem.
Just import the FBX file back into Maya and then re-export it again. Works great.
I guess with the constraints I used to animate the character it screwed something up or added code that unity did not like. It seems re-exporting the character from the same FBX file strips the problem.
Hope this help someone.
Cool, but would get annoying if your assets grow. Do a bit of troubleshooting and try to find out if it was the constraints that cause the error.
Also as a general rule of thumb, freeze transforms before applying any constraints and such.
