Maya Trax animation to FBX please help me

Hey I’m trying to export FK animations from the trax editor in Maya to fbx so I can put it in to unity but the animation keep coming up empty i’m new to both unity and maya

so please please please please help me

Which Unity and which Maya are you using? Unity 2.6. doesn’t work very well with FBX 2011 exporters (FBX SDK is not compatible).

I know this is an old thread, but it popped up during a search and is the same problem I’m having. This is my first attempt at exporting multiple trax editor animation clips from Maya (2012) and was wondering why the FBX contained no animatrion data. Even after I baked the keys to the skeleton.

Can anyone offer advice?

This thread isn’t quite as old as the one I ran across searching for the same thing:
http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/1012-Multiple-animation-clip-import-from-Maya

Back in 2005 Joachim informed us that the Maya FBX plugin doesn’t (or didn’t at the time) support Trax animation clips. My question, now seven years later, is whether this has been resolved. Has anyone out there had success importing animation into Unity 3.x from Maya Trax clips? Or is the preferred method to just string together all the clips on the timeline and divide them in Unity?

Old thread, but still relevant.
You can export as FBX, be sure to tick the “bake” button in export settings.

this is a old thread but is there any resource to inspect FBX structure ? I watched lots of tutorials, most of them just use one timeline for all animations and then split them in unity. Blender has action based animation clips, maya has trax but how these animations are exported as clips ? Is there any limitations, is there any comprehevsive guide about fbx based animations for game engines ?
