md2 - vertex animation

Hi there. New to Unity (win). Love the editor.
I tried to import a md2 file to max and then save it as .max file. Imported fine into unity but seems
vertex animation is not imported ?
The reason I want to use md2 over bones etc, is that I have so many of them. And many more on the net.
They are so low poly that speed is not an issue.
In Quake 2, you can have 500 animated with no frame drops. So I wanted to see them running around in unity, but even the models show up, its completely unanimated.
Any hints / tricks to use vertex animation or is it simply impossible?

Welcome to the forum,

Unfortunately, importing vertex animation is not supported atm.

Thank you. So impressed with unity. Never seen a more user friendly editor.

Oh, the specs said “animation” for 3ds max, but thats not including vertex, i guess.

I hope it will be possible in later version as there are so many free md2/md3 models as compared to boned ones.

Thank you for the quick reply.
