Hey guys,
I would like to use some mecanim animations on a variety of characters, so when I import a character I make sure it has a humanoid animation type. It has plenty of bones and when I put it into the scene it looks perfectly fine, but when I play an animation such as idle, it’s head rotates 90 degrees and some of the limbs also deform.
I have tried countless different solutions found on these forums and other websites, but I can’t get it to work. When I set the animation type to generic, the model looks perfectly fine, but only the animations it came with work. (I can’t play mecanim animations from another model)
Below I have included some screenshots to show a better idea of my problem.
I have spent over 15 hours on this problem without a fix and I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thank you very much in advance!
EDIT: It seems that when I import the character rig as a humanoid, it creates an avatar that is deformed. The deformed character can play mecanim animations. When I use another character model’s avatar, my character is no longer deformed, but cannot play the mecanim animations (but it can play its own default animations)
