Mecanim: bugged animation controller

This is starting to really bug me.
Every time I open the Unity Editor… EVERY. TIME. my mecanim animation is completely bugged, it just refuses to work at all.
If I proceed to select the offending object (which shows the Animator component in the inspector), suddenly the animation starts working again. It continues working until I next restart the Unity editor.

Luckily I only have one Animator component in the whole project, but very soon I will have more, and it’s going to be an absolute nightmare if this isn’t fixed.

Unity Version: 4.6.0b17

And are they supposed to fix it by telepathy, or would you think to post enough information that they could figure out what’s happening?

More information? I’ve already explained exactly what I’m experiencing:

  • Prefab with Animator component. I boot up Unity, Animation isn’t playing at all.
  • Select Prefab in project view.
  • Animation suddenly starts working again.

I don’t know what more I’m supposed to say, because that’s all I know.
