Media Campaign, methods, sites and ideas

I am trying to do a media campaign for our next release. I looked into FreeAppADay.com they “claimed” to have over 550k Facebook users and their app has been downloaded 8 million times… woopty Fing doo. I know tons of people who have had their app downloaded millions of times, but that doesn’t mean the person keeps it on their phone. FreeAppADay wants 8500 for a promotional campaign. I found out that they really only have 136k followers on Facebook, “whoops” and they were kind enough to offer me a 500 dollar deduction. Not sure the math here but if your claiming over half a million users and you only have a 5th of that, it seems like fraud?

Anyways, wondering if anyone had any other sites that might be cheaper, for 8k I could run an INSANELY large app add campaign or even Facebook, or just go buy a new motorcycle and hope people just download the game out of wanting to have fun.

I’m in the same boat. I need someway to advertise my app as well. I tried a Facebook ad but I was paying about a buck per click. That math doesn’t work out too well for a .99 cent app.

Touch Arcade ads are ~$850 a month. Not sure I’m ready for that just yet. Like to find somewhere smaller to see what kind of results I can get.

Don’t spend 8500 dollars for 136k Facebook likes: with a lot of luck you’ll reach 10-20% of them. Read this:

FADD has an app that promotes their new apps, the facebook likes are largely irrelevant. However around holiday seasons their prices go up substantially from $8500 :slight_smile:
