Mercenary Dark Kickstarter Project

I don’t know if this is the correct place to post this. If it is not please accept my appology and let me know where would be the right place.

My friend and I have been working on a new game called Mercenary Dark. Think of Diablo in space. We were doing it all in XNA for Windows, but now are going to switch to Unity 3D (Yahooo).

We have just started a Kickstarter project in order to fund our development effort. If you are interested you can take a look at:

Looks like an amazing project! If I get some money before the kickstarter is over I’ll be sure to donate over $100 and get myself a sexy t-shirt. I love how this game looks and would be something I’d play for hours when I’m bored. I hope you reach your goal! Good luck.

Cheers

Thank you very much for your support. We are very excited about it.

It looks cool but it also looks very, very similar to Space Pirates and Zombies. Like, almost the same game with slightly different graphics.

Space Pirates and Zombies is $10 and if I’m correct, you’re selling your game for $25? Is there a $15 reason why I should play this over SPAZ?

Anyway, good luck!

There are some similarities between them and then there are a lot of differences.

The other things is this is a kickstarter project. If you are not familiar with the concept it is not really a dollars for product type system. You are paying what you are paying because you want to help fund the project.

If we built Mercenary Dark and simply sold it on iOS or whatever we would probably charge .99 for iOS or $5-$10 on steem or something like that.

We charge $25 on kickstarter because that is the reward level for that amount. We charge even more for some of the other rewards.

To recap, kickstarter is not about paying for the game. It is to participate in funding a creative project.

I hope that make sense…

Thank you for your taking the time to look.

Oh, I’m familiar with Kickstarter and have backed 2 projects myself, both of which sell for the amount that I gave them to recieve the game. It seems I have wrongly assumed the same for your game.

I’m interested in seeing how this plays and how the game ends up.

Good luck with Kickstarter!

Glad to know you at familiar with it. I hope I didn’t come across the wrong way. If I did I apologize. There are a lot of people who don’t understand kick starter. There are also several different approaches kick starter projects take.

We truly plan to make Mercenary Dark a premium experience. We think we can make it worth the while for or supporters to give what we are asking.

No, I understood you, so no need to apologise. I’m sure you’ll be able to create an awesome game!
