Merging Unity iPhone Native XCode Apps

Sorry if this question has already been answered elsewhere in the forum - I was not able to find this topic. Is it possible to compile a Unity iPhone game along with a standard XCode program (written in Objective-C) into a single iPhone app.

As an example, say I wanted to create a normal Cocoa Touch “wrapper” application that would have menus for high scores, social networking, etc., but the “game” portion of the app would be created in Unity. Is it possible to combine the technologies in this way? Would it simply be a matter of modifying the XCode project Unity iPhone creates?

If this is possible, could I save data to the document space of the application in the Cocoa part that the Unity part could read? As another example, say the user entered their name in a menu prior to playing the game and I want that name to appear within the Unity game, read from a text or XML file. Is this feasible?

Hi Chris,

I just posted my first entry on my new blog site and I think it might answer some of your questions.
