mesh import with texture problem

Greetings to all…

I am new to unity and just started out using the trial version for windows platform. I have a problem trying to import a simple mesh with texture into unity from modo via Autodesk FBX format. The mesh import into unity without problem but the texture was in a mess even though i UV’d each of the mesh object in modo and that i have only 1 texture map.
Pls advise if i hv done something wrong and how to fix it.

Make sure to have a material with a texture assigned to the mesh. The FBX exporter doesn’t export unused UV’s on models.
It has nothing to do with Unity, but is solely a bug within the FBX exporter. Well, it is not really a bug, I’m sure someone out there made this stupid feature on purpose, but I consider it a bug…

thanks Kragh for your kind response. I did apply UV texture to material for each mesh. It seems that after it was triangulated through the FBX exporter, the texture somehow gets distorted. The texture looks perfectly fine on my mesh in modo but not in unity after it was imported and i agree it has nothing to do with unity.

You are using the latest FBX-exporter?

i used the built-in autodesk fbx exporter in modo.
