hey everyone!
I’m kinda new to speedtree and I’m trying to assign a material to my trunk node but it’s disappearing when assigned. I feel like this is some sort of stupid mistake and I’d appreciate any help. Thanks!

That’s strange! I see you’re using SpeedTree Cinema 9.3; I did a test and did not see the same result. Does this happen in every model and material you try, or just this one? Additionally, depending on your license, you can upgrade to SpeedTree 10.
If you want, we’d be happy to take a look at your file. Please go to File->“Save as with assets”, create a new folder, and save your file there. Then zip it and send it to us at support@speedtree.com.
It happens with just this model.
here is the project file: BlueFlowerIssue.spm - Google Drive
Thanks!
I looked at it in SpeedTree Cinema 9.3.0, and I don’t have the stem disappear when I add a material. That said, it looks like you just uploaded the .spm, so I don’t have your textures. I can’t imagine that it would be that one specific texture, but I can’t say for sure. You can try packaging everything with my previous instructions and send it to us or share it here so we can troubleshoot further.
Here are a couple things you can also try:
Make a blank scene. Go to “File->Import tree parts”. This will allow you to bring in your spm and texture maps. Sometimes starting in blank scene solves random problems!
Reinstall the Modeler
If you have an Indie or Pro licence, upgrade to SpeedTree 10 (you can do this for free in your store dashboard). Cinema and Games are combined into one package in SpeedTree 10.
