Mesh particle UVs distorted, regular mesh fine

Title says it all… I have a textured mesh I’d like to use for mesh particles and the mesh on its own is just fine, the UVs are correct and the texture displays correctly. When I choose this mesh in a Particle System however, the UVs are incorrect, even though I’m using the exact same material.

How strange. This shouldn’t happen. I recommend submitting a bug report along with a simple project, thanks!
